New National Feral Deer Management Coordinator

Dr Jane McKenzie has been appointed as the new National Feral Deer Management Coordinator, bringing 30 years’ experience in ecology, research, engagement and communications, and most recently developing deer management tools in the Invasive Species Unit of South Australia’s Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA).

The coordinator project is currently funded by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry until late 2025.

Jane replaces Annelise Wiebkin who had been in the role for nearly five years and continues to support the efforts of the National Feral Deer Action Plan within PIRSA.
