Connecting conservation and feral cat and fox management

Protecting wildlife takes more than securing habitat. Managing threats such as feral cats and foxes is a vital part of helping native species survive and recover.

That connection brought CISS’s National Feral Cat and Fox Management Coordinator, Yasmin Aly to the Australian Land Conservation Alliance (ALCA) Conference in nipaluna/Hobart earlier this month.

Yasmin Aly attended ALCA in nipaluna/Hobart.

The event brought together more than 500 delegates, including conservation practitioners, First Nations land managers, policymakers, researchers, industry and finance leaders, landholders, and community representatives from across the country.

Under the theme ‘Nature – Climate Action: Our Opportunity to Lead’, delegates explored how conservation and climate action can deliver benefits for nature and communities.

For Yasmin, it was an opportunity to strengthen relationships with the private land conservation sector, exchange practical insights and explore how coordinated feral cat and fox management can support conservation efforts across Australia.
