The National Feral Pig Action Plan’s recent Stakeholder Forum featured United States’ wildlife biologist, Mike Bodenchuk (pictured), and drew parallels between feral pig management in Australia and his home state of Texas.
Mike shared his strong field-based feral pig management methodologies and insights on landscape-scale feral pig management, how to leverage different control methods with sometimes limited resources and lessons for Australia.

National Feral Pig Conference 2027
Planning is underway for the National Feral Pig Conference 2027. The National Feral Pig Conference is the ideal opportunity for land managers, community groups, jurisdictions, NRM organisations and research agencies to come together to share management approaches and discover insights.
The conference will be held on the Gold Coast at Hilton, Surfers Paradise on 9-11 March 2027.
The overarching conference theme is “Stronger Together: Coordinate, Collaborate, Communicate”.

Share your program with us
The National Feral Pig Action Plan is developing a register of feral pig management programs to build knowledge of the many programs currently being conducted across Australia. The team will use this information to map areas under management as well as share these details, where approved, via the NFPAP’s Information Hub.
By sharing what’s working, land managers can learn from each other, strengthen collaboration, and build strong cases to support communities who are working to protect agricultural, environmental and cultural assets from feral pigs.
