INTRODUCING OUR NEW COMMS MANAGER

Frank Exon

Frank Exon joined the Centre in September, starting in the middle of Canberra’s recent COVID-19 lockdown.

He comes to the role with a deep understanding of communications and natural resource management, having worked in senior communications roles within the public and not-for-profit sectors, and as a senior catchment management professional within the NSW Government.

Most recently Frank was the National Director for the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA), a member-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of excellence and pride in public service across Australia. In this role he led the national rollout of a new IPAA brand, stood up a new IPAA website, and wrote a history of IPAA’s first 40 years, which His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Rtd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia launched in February 2020 with IPAA’s National President, Dr Gordon de Brouwer PSM. He also played an instrumental role in securing a number of new national sponsors and in-kind partners.

Frank is excited to take on the role of Communications and Marketing Manager and to shape the stories of the Centre’s innovative research program, its work in applying the findings of this research to the development of new biocontrol products, and its engagement with land managers across Australia through its network of national coordinators and digital hubs.
