National Feral Rabbit Management Coordinator work plan takes shape

Australia’s most costly vertebrate pest is firmly in the spotlight, with the Centre’s National Feral Rabbit Management Coordinator, Heidi Kleinert, developing a strategic work plan to drive coordinated action on rabbit control. The plan sets out a vision for effective feral rabbit management, reducing their devastating impact on agriculture, the environment, First Nations cultural values, and our communities

Its success will depend on strong collaboration across sectors—from land managers and First Nations groups to community organisations, not-for-profits, government, and industry. Heidi describes the work plan as a living document, reviewed annually to adapt to emerging challenges and opportunities. Check it out.

Also high on the agenda: a new Glovebox Guide to Managing Rabbits, plus updates to the National Standard Operating Procedures and Code of Practice. Stay tuned!
