OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A LONG TERM DIFFERENCE TO AUSTRALIA’S ENVIRONMENT

CEO of the Centre for Invasive Species Solutions, Mr Andreas Glanznig said, “We are excited to  invite support of a suite of projects where philanthropic investment can step in and make a significant contribution to the threats posed by invasive species in Australia”.

Project examples include:

  • a marked expansion of the list of weed species available for identification on the Centre’s WeedScan app (scheduled for release in mid-2023)
  • increasing community awareness on the importance of biosecurity to Australians as part of The Decade of Biosecurity through a tested and focussed marketing campaign
  • hosting state and territory based, and a national Kids’ Conferences focused on Australian vertebrate pests, building on the success of the 2021 Australian Vertebrate Pests Kids Conference
  • applying breakthrough gene drive technology to new species such as cane toads, rabbits and feral cats.

Companies and individuals interested in having a detailed discussion about any of these projects, and how they can be involved, or if you know of someone that we should talk to,  please contact the Centre’s Fundraising Manager, Trevor Capps.
