Project code: M-203
Species/Threats:
Emergency Animal Disease (EAD)
Summary
Create a new role to conduct research to help New South Wales to prepare and respond to Emergency Animal Diseases (EAD) that affect ungulate livestock by understanding the roles that vertebrate pests could have in disease outbreaks and how best to manage those vertebrate pests if an outbreak occurs.
Objectives
The objectives of this project are to:
- Develop models of disease outbreaks and management using mathematical and simulation approaches such as applying Bayesian methods to analyse data and build collaborative relationships across NSW DPIRD and with stakeholders.
- Contribute to scientific knowledge through peer-reviewed publications, maintain expertise in disease modeling and pest management, supervise research teams, and participate in fieldwork, including in remote areas.
