This project brings together national leaders in weed biocontrol prioritisation, digital monitoring and weed consultation into a purpose-built collaboration to implement the initial phase of the National Weed Biocontrol Pipeline Strategy.
This collaboration leverages the five organisations that prepared the National Weed Biocontrol Pipeline Strategy and draws on the expertise of the Atlas of Living Australia to design improved functionality of its Biocontrol Hub. It also utilises the services of Wild Matters, who are well reputed by weed researchers and weed managers at both the policy and operational levels and have extensive experience in the design and implementation of consultative processes to develop strategies and frameworks such as the National Established Weeds Priorities and the National Environment and Community Biosecurity RD&E Strategy.
The staff engaged in the collaboration bring in excess of 175 years of experience collectively, and expertise in multiple areas of research and engagement relating to the subject, including weed biocontrol research, weed biocontrol risk assessments, native range surveys, host specificity testing, post-release monitoring, population genetics, modelling, cost-benefit analyses, weed management policy, communications, stakeholder engagement, national coordination and facilitation, and policy and strategic advice.
